Bad or mad Now a day it is hard to define crime from non-crime. People define crime in their own personal way, but it will always be dictated by law. No matter what the criminals motive is, it is a crime. “Bad or mad” is an article by Sean Spence, a late reader of psychiatry. It was published in 2004, in the magazine “New Scientists” He talks about there is a “moral evil” and a “natural evil”. The “moral evil”, is when a person does something morally bad on purpose. “Natural evil” is nature catastrophes, such as tsunamis, earthquakes etc. But I think Sean Spence left out one kind of evil: the one, where the criminal does his crime, for the pleasure. Some men are getting pleasured by killing other people – that is evil, and that is sick. When a man or woman gets happy by either stealing or killing, they are the most dangerous people in the world. She kills a lot of people, close to hundreds of people, but every person who watches the movie will cheer for her – because it is her revenge. Should she be punished as hard as a man who just does it for fun? That is the big question in our modern society. When we live in such a sophisticated society as we does, there needs to be a lot of laws. There needs to be laws that can define how many years of imprisoning the criminal deserve. Sean Spence also states that a review of the justice’s methods of handling criminals is necessary. You can’t treat all people like they are the same, because they are not. Every single person is different, and needs to be treated differently. A lot of the serial killers we see and have seen have been diagnosed mentally ill. They live in their own little world, where they can’t separate right from wrong. These people are not getting imprisoned, but instead they are taken to a mental facility, where they are getting treated for their
