Bad Boys 2 An all-time favourite of mine is Bad Boys. Will Smith has always been one of my favourite crucial characters and my reasons for this opinion are echoed though his performance in the two Bad Boy films. Bad boys I set a baffling precedent after 128 million dollar earning from Hollywood alone. Can the second one beat it? Detective Mike Lowrey played by Will Smith and Detective Marcus Burnette played by Martin Lawrence team up again since 1995 for the development - Bad Boys II. Both Detectives are partners in the TNT. They are assigned to a job where a Spaniard, Johnny Tapia played by Jordi Molla is smuggling drugs and a Russian controls the sharing and owns almost every nightclub in town. Together they run the largest ecstasy import business in Miami. Burnette's sister, Syd, is assigned to the same case as Lowrey and her brother. The police are having trouble hunting down evidence to convict Tapia resulting in Syd having to go undercover for five months, almost killing herself in a car chase, while Smith proves that he can drive and shoot at the same time and Lawrence checks to see how effective it is to shoot inside the vehicle rather than out. The peak of the movie is reached when there is a major shoot out in Cuba. Compared to the first Bad Boys movie this one for me definitely leaves its predecessor in the shadows after a long waited eight years. Nothing in this film is done in moderation...there's at least one million bullets fired in one scene alone! The degree to which the director Mark Hughes has gone to make this film energetic is certainly obvious from the first scene alone, where a heart pumping ambush on the "kkk" is staged by the TNT. Straight away tension, uncertainty and most importantly entertainment is thrown in to viewer’s faces as the pair Will Smith and Martin Lawrence prepare to put in a memorable comedic feat.
