I feel some crimes that have taken place in this country could have been stopped or lessened to a degree with a concealed firearm. The government can not ensure the 100 percent safety and wellbeing of all its citizens. For example the school shootings and workplace instances etc that happened in this country. But if there were more responsible law abiding people that had a concealed weapon on them some of these tragedies could have been avoided or at least minimized the damage that those criminals caused saving the lives of others is always a good thing. Criminals are not known for following the rules so all law abiding citizens have the right to defend themselves by any means needed.

If a drunk driver were to hit and kill another person, it is not the car that is to blame, rather the person behind the steering wheel. The same could be said about guns. Not only is it a constitutional right to bear arms, but most crimes are committed using illegal weapons, so taking away legally obtained guns would not decrease acts of armed violence. This issue of gun control in the United States has people completely divided, but it must ultimately come down to the preservation of privately owned guns and the uplifting of current gun bans if this nation’s crime rate is to decrease.
It will not stop people from buying guns off of the black market and using them like they always have. The federal government regulations make it very difficult for the common man in crime driven neighborhoods to buy a gun, while the thug, under any garb, continues to procure arms illegally. While a segment of the law guarantees individuals the right to own guns, another amendment makes owning a handgun difficult and many people feel that their constitutional rights are being denied (Borade). There will always be murders and killing in our world but gun control is not the answer. If they take away guns, they might as well ban knives alcohol and other dangerous things, but would also be nearly impossible to achieve.
