Now a hunter’s role in our nation’s ecosystem is that of the primary predator of deer. Before regulated hunting laws were enforced, hunters were damaging the ecosystem of our nation by overhunting areas, leaving little food for the natives at that time and certain predatory animals. Even farms are affected by deer that graze in agricultural fields, competing directly with humans for food. Mike Crissey of the Associated Press points out that deer herds that are too large can damage their own environment by killing young saplings that can lead to shorter and a fewer diversity of trees. A good example would be Catoctin Mountain Park, Maryland, where Camp David is located.

Respecting the Sport of Hunting Without Being Wasteful Hunters need to be more respectful to their traditional sport by making full use of their acquired game because being wasteful is bad character and sportsmanship. The sport of hunting has been around since Adam was kicked out of the garden. It is especially a North American tradition. Our fore-fathers and the Indians both hunted game to provide meat for their families. Their source of survival has turned into our past-time.

Montag did not get Beatty’s hint about the books until Beatty said “Didn’t I hint enough when I sent the Hound around your place” (Bradbury 113). He wanted Montag to take his hint and get rid of the books, so they would not have to burn Montag’s house. By hinting to Montag, Beatty was trying to give Montag a second chance to go back to his old life. Even though Beatty was a high ranking fireman he was not happy. While Death is responding to God’s instructions Death notices in a distance Everyman taking a walk not even thinking about Death. Death responds to God’s call as a servant ready to do whatever he is asked. Throughout literature Death has been perceived as the grim reaper lurking in the shadows waiting to take family members and friends. Everyman did not recognize Death when he called him (line 85). Everyman responding to Death’s call and engaging in a conversation with someone he perceives as a stranger shows that throughout any given day man encounters Death unknowingly.
“Easily overtaking the struggling deer, I move beside him, hold for the lungs, and shoot him again through the chest. The buck’s final breaths cloud the cold evening air. Feeling more sadness than elation, I step aside and watch him die.” Through this short excerpt from M.R. James’ Dealing with Death, we are introduced to a hunter who is connected to the natural world on a deeper level than anyone could understand. Hunters take pride in their strengths to take another life, and like most, appreciate life and death more so than a non-hunter.
Because fear and pain does not play a role on this utopian society, let alone death, the term “Release” was created to veil the true meaning of death. When Jonas found out the true meaning of Release through watching his father release a baby, he felt so angry and confused that his own father killed a baby with his own hands. However, the Giver calmed him and explained to him: “Listen to me, Jonas. They can’t help it. They know nothing….

I grew angry then-my heart felt strong.
