As a child Fanny's mother took her to every show they could get at and started her love for performing at a very young age. Even though she was the third of four children and had a drunk as a father, her mother still made time for Fanny and cheered her, on her journey to her dream. After winning an amateur talent contest at age 13 singing "When you know you're not forgotten by the girl you can't forget" at Keeney's Theater in Brooklyn. She then quit school at the age of 14 to become a performer on the "low-down" burlesque circuits. She later changed her name to Fanny Brice and got her first professional job in the chorus of The Talk of the Town but ironicely she got fired during rehearsals by the big current star George M. Cohen.
Though their restaurant failed and they went bankrupt, their father had them sing at quinceañero parties and on street corners, which made them popular quick. Their success only grew more when Selena and her mom started a clothing line. However, their lives changed with her sudden death in 1995. Selena was born on April 16, 1971 in Jackson, Texas (Patoski). She began singing at the age of three.

Amy Beach Amy Beach was born on September 5, 1867 in Henniker, New Hampshire. She was a child prodigy, and was able to sing forty tunes accurately by age one. She had also taught herself to read when she was four. By the time she was five she was composing simple waltzes. A year after her mother started giving her formal piano lessons.

Cathy opened this restaurant for seventeen thousand dollars an amount that was far less than he anticipated. Opening restaurants in malls Cathy concluded was a way to get more selling capacity per dollar (Fame, 2005). The menu for the restaurant was simple, it consisted of five items; boneless chicken breast sandwich, potato fries, coleslaw, lemon pie, and lemonade. Over the course of years new items would be added to the menu; however the original Chick-fil-A sandwich would always be the leading sandwich.
Born November 17th, 1938, in Orilla, Ontario, Lightfoot’s talent was recognized by his mother and she encouraged him and groomed him to be a successful performer at a young age. Lightfoot was in a choir when he was young and claims to have gained some valuable knowledge about performing from his choirmaster Ray Williams. His first major performance was at Massey Hall in Toronto when he was twelve after winning a competition. When he was a teenager he taught himself folk-guitar and drums, and learned to play the piano. He performed a lot in his high school years.

Some of the names that were appearing on the top of the charts surprised me. Who knew that the president of the math club had such a strong throwing arm? Is that my lab partner from freshman year passing every other player in sprints? These girls were working harder than any sports team I had been apart of. Amazingly, girls who had little history with each other were gathering together during breaks, laughing and encouraging teammates.
