Once someone is evil and he does bad things, the damage is done. There is no necessity of tracing the roots of the wrath that causes the beast inside becoming alive. This means that either the human race is born devilish or it grow up to be so, both have same consequences. In my opinion, people are born evil. There is a beast inside of every single one of us and some just allow it to be seen, some hide it till forever.
What imbeds evil into the human mind? Many people have many different opinions of evil and what brings it to us. Ideas range from the devil himself to evil simply being inherited. Within the text The Moral Of The Story by Nina Rosenstand, it is said that evil may be a force outside of human being such as some satanic power that infects human souls, also that evil may be a force within the human mind that does not see the need and interests of others, or that evil may be a blind spot in the mind where most of us have a sense of community, belonging, and empathy for others. No matter where evil comes from, it is a very strong and dark force that only causes destruction, depression, and fear.
Peoplelike us give the sociopath little sympathy because they hurt people so badbut their illness is recognized as somewhat of an explanation of why theydo it. The idea of the disorder is no excuse for their behavior that resultsfrom it. The sociopath is very intelligent and knows how to manipulatepeople into thinking they are normal and that is when they work theirmagic. Beneath the mask of sanity a sociopath is full of tension, hostility, irritability, rage, emptiness and sadness at the core of the sociopathicpersonality. When they hurt a person a sociopath might think he had itcoming or I’m watching out for number 1.
In the beginning of an essay, the “innocent Soto” begins with the statement, “I knew enough about hell to stop me from stealing. I was holy in almost every bone.” The quote acknowledges that Soto is aware that stealing was bad, and then implies that he wouldn’t do such a thing because of his purity. Towards the end of the essay, in contrast, the “menacing Soto” states, “I knew sin was what you took and didn’t give back.” This quote reflects Soto’s greed because saying “I knew” reveals his prior knowledge that his actions were sinful, but did it anyway. Confusion and uncertainty felt by the torn Soto would be the same as any other child his age, a phase that all children experience as they try to find balance in their morals and values. A character worth noting in the book is his grandfather.
Cain related back to hell and all that is evil, so immediately one may think that Grendel is this evil character due to his heritage. However, he is a misunderstood character who was not given the benefit of the doubt. In the eyes of man, Grendel is an evil monster banished from man’s society, who is now forced to live and see the world in a different perspective. Grendel attempted to fit into man’s world. Though, man’s world is a harsh and judgmental society.
And showing how anyone can easily be offended by the names that he makes up. I found Churchill to be persuasive at the end of his essay when he said “Know that it causes real pain and real suffering to real people. Know that it threatens our very survival. And know that this is just as much a crime against humanity as anything the Nazis ever did. It is likely the indigenous people of the United States will never demand that those guilty of such criminal activity be punished for their deeds.
But have you ever thought of an evil doer to be just someone who messes with your thoughts and emotions? Most of us would answer no, but by reading the Scarlet Letter we see a truly evil man. His name is Chillingworth. He is an example of how one can be truly dastardly without physically harming somebody personally. From the beginning of the story we sense that Hawthorne emphasizes the deformed man in the crowd.
Jekyll was pure evil and in return became the infamous Mr. Hyde. I believe there is some good and evil in everyone, yet they already have set up in their minds, from values taught by family, how they will react or respond to certain situations, weather good or bad. The Traditional View states we are free and responsible agents and we are free to choose our choices. Similar to the Romantic View “If good
Many societies face racial discrimination, but it is only those who are willing to stand up for what they believe in that can really change how things progress. In this case, Gandhi’s revolt is a virtue due to the fact that he is standing up for a greater cause by opposing a racial system that brings pain to the everyday lives of Indians. As Gandhi is burning peoples’ passes, a fellow officer beats him cruelly with a stick without fighting back. Gandhi expresses his ideals on the issues associated with the racial discrimination demonstrated by burning Indians’ border passes through nonviolent methods. By doing so, he is brutally beaten for stating his own opinion, which by law he
Nothing good can come out of torture. For example, torturing terrorist suspects is a cruel thing to do. The torture is ineffective because the information obtained is unreliable. “Subjecting prisoners to abuse leads to bad intelligence, because under torture a detainee will tell his interrogator anything to make the pain stop.” Said senator John McCain, survivor detainee from World War two. Torturing instigates hate, and a revenge cycle is born.
