From my experiences as a student I have come to the realization that education is a very powerful, enriched, and very promising tool to have. Looking into society education speaks for itself. Obtaining higher education will result in success. It takes hard work, dedication, leadership, and trust. There is so much to learn education is so ongoing.

There are many branches and niches for everyone to exert and put their working skills to use in. I would personally like to intern with the Federal Government because I am simply curious about what kind of experience it would be, I know that it would be a great resume builder, and I have always wanted to take part in a career where I can directly give back to my country. I do take pride in my country and I’m grateful for the way that my government is run. Now I would like to become part of it.
With a university, we should be able to meet people with common interest and goals that will eventually turn into some of our lifetime friends. Friends who can sit together and talk about the fun times they had at games or times where they helped someone in need or a memory of an inside joke that they made during a class. However, my main deciding factor in choosing a college was a place that had my degree and a proven record of accomplishment to back it up. My father has always been my support system in my return to school. My father has always been there for me when I needed him the most. I always was in good and healthy living arrangements, so I never wanted for anything. Returning to school was a good decision for me and everybody I would say because the economy is at an all-time low. Stability is one of the reasons why I chose to return to school because I would someday be able to help my father the way he helped me and my family for myself as well.
The school was founded as Plymouth Normal School in 1871. Since that time it has evolved to a teachers college, a state college, and finally to a state university in 2003. It was founded as a teacher's college, and it still retains a distinguished teaching program/major to this day. Since that time however, it has diversified its academic profile, adding many new majors and fields of study. The school has become known in recent years for its meteorology program (Judd Gregg Meteorology Institute), which is considered one of the best in the eastern United States, and is also strong in business, visual and performing arts, interdisciplinary studies, and psychology.
Being at ACLC has allowed me to take class I otherwise couldn’t take at a conventional high school such as English 1A, a course that covers on year of English, at a college level, in a year. I’m also able take beginner piano and all these courses are of no charge to me. Being able to take these courses is a major boost in my chances of getting into college and I am thankful for them though I was very close to walking away from these opportunities and this school. Yes, Alameda High and Encinal students can take classes at College of Alameda but that was only during the summer and they can’t go to Laney or Berkeley for more classes. At ACLC, I could take classes during the school year if my schedule and free periods allowed it.

Essay #1 While most students attend state university to pursue their career, I found that Community College is the perfect institution for me. I personally prefer to attend a Community College ra- ther than university. There are several reason why I think Community College is the best place for me to earn a degree. For one reason, Community College offers small size classes where student will receive personal attention from their instructors. Small size classes do matter when it comes to undergraduate student like me.
