Attitude and Customer Service Our operator at work has such a positive attitude and no matter how rude people on the phone are with her, she pretty much keeps the same upbeat and bubbly personality. She always says “Good Morning” to you in the morning and “Have a Good Evening” at night. She has to deal with upset people every day, and somehow seems to be able to keep a positive attitude. She always wants to know how you are doing or if there is anything she can help you with. She truly has a positive attitude. There are a couple of employees that I think fall into the neutral category and they are employees on the floor that just come in and do their work and leave. They never seem to want to get involved in doing continuous improvement activities or participate in meetings. Just clock in, do their work and clock out. For the most part, I really don’t know anyone that has a negative attitude all the time. Most of the people I work with and know seem to start off with a positive attitude, but something upsets them to put them in a bad mood. I try to have a positive attitude when I come in every morning, however, it can easily be changed into a negative attitude. I deal with customers that don’t want to pay their bills every day and they have a tendency to be able to change your attitude quickly. This is something I am trying to work on, especially since I read the chapter. I normally would say that I am a people person, but according to my husband and some of my close friends, I have a tendency to say something I think is funny, but he other person takes it like I said it rude.
