Allied health professionals are a rare commodity in rural sections which results in limited resources for ongoing health promotion and prevention. Education is lacking in rural/remote Australia with regard to treatment and management of chronic diseases for instance complications arising from Diabetes. There is a desperate need for increased services in this area to assist people in making better life choices to reduce the incidences of complications and lengthy stays in hospital.
