1. Early year educators should excite and motivate the children’s reading I agree with the above statement. Research shows that the early years involve the highest rates of learning, and the habits formed at a young age will stay with them for a lifetime. It's therefore a perfect time to introduce children to books which educate and inform throughout life. 2. Text for young learners should be comprehensive, child appropriate and have scope for actively engaging the learners in finally developing their own interactive text. I agree with the above statement. Since early years involve the highest rates of learning, it is extremely important to ensure an appropriate selection of books that can engage them. The text should be appropriately designed with the age of the learner in mind to avoid them being bored or turned-off by reading some less authoritative books. 3. Early years educator should ensure that the young learners have a play based learning atmosphere. I agree with the above statement. Young children’s play allows them to explore, identify, negotiate, take risks and create meaning. Children who engage in quality play experiences are more likely to have well-developed memory skills, language development, and are able to regulate their behaviour, leading to enhanced school adjustment and academic learning. 4. Early years educators should be open to immense possibilities in teaching multi-literacy in the 21st century. I agree with the above statement. In 21st century families, children often have exposure to technology-use in sophisticated ways that the appreciative teacher can build on. By considering the diverse nature of literacy teachers also have the opportunity to broaden their own teaching practices enormously, as new ways of thinking and acting in the world are revealed. 5.
