4. Around The World- Wearing makeup, high heels, skirts, having male friends, driving a car and making money: I cannot live without all this. Saudi Arabia (officially Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) is the largest Arab country in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia is known as the birthplace of Islam. The cultural environment in Saudi Arabia is highly conservative and has strict Islamic religious laws. Saudi Arabia is one of the countries where women and men have totally different rights. Firstly, there are no specific laws protecting women from violence. Even if a woman decides to report her husband for hitting her, there are no laws that can help protect her as a victim. I can understand that some women don’t want to share the problems that are going on at home; it might even be embarrassing. Though, no one has the right to hurt another person, especially a woman. Saudi women know that probably no one is going to help them and they might even get into bigger troubles, so they just sit quietly and take no action. In addition, a woman can be killed by her husband or family’s members if she brought shame to the family honor. For example, in Saudi Arabia, cheating is considered to be the most dishonorable thing that a woman can do; therefore, it is punishable by death in most cases. It is likely that Saudi women are used to live like this and this is normal but this is violence; Saudi women should start fighting for their rights. Secondly, you should have the best manners when you meet Arab person. For instance, men shake hands. Good friends may greet each other with a handshake and a kiss on each cheek. Women generally hug and kiss close friends. Men and women would not greet each other in public if from outside the family. When Saudis greet each other they take their time and converse about general things. But it’s different when you are invited to Saudi’s house,
