Elaine was proudly coached by Peter Burrows and Marylynn Gelderman throughout her amateur and professional career. She was one of the first woman to land many triple jumps in her programs. In fact, Elaine landed six triple jumps to win the world championship title in 1982(Ryan, Joan). In addition, Zayak was apart of the first trip to China by American Skaters for a competition. There was a Zayak rule, inacted at the 1982 ISU Congress, which states that many not perform the same kind of jump more than twice, and for it to be given full credit on both occasions, one of the two triples must be incorporated into a combination or sequence(Farris, JoAnn Schneider).
Their season was very strong, but it ended in a blaze. They had a hot streak going into the AAC tournament and came out champions. Now they have their sights set on the National Title. With a target on their back from winning the title last year, the Cards know all to well what is at stake. Their starting line up consists of two seniors, two juniors, and one sophomore, all who were part of the championship team last year.

I trialled for Northern Tigers and in the first trial I was signed. I have scored 12 goals in 22 matches for my new club (including trial matches) and consider this my breakthrough season as I have shown the potential I never knew I had. My coach Jason Eager, who is also First Grade Coach of the club, has shown belief in my own personal ability and has moved me to the right/left wing in our 4-3-3 formation. Jason has said that he would bet on me beating any defender 1 v 1 and that I am one of the best wingers in the league. This feedback has informed me that I am progressing well as a footballer.
I had the privilege of coaching T’yanna and experienced first hand what a dedicated and hard worker she is. Her leadership and cheerleading skills are superb! T’yanna has been a cheerleader for eights years! She has volunteered her skills, time, and expertise to the Alief Steelers liitle league football team for over 5 years. T’yanna has received various awards for her contribution to the team!
