Arizona Immigration Law “What are the problems with immigration”, many people are currently asking. Over the last decade Immigration has been a controversial subject throughout the United States. It has caused a great stir within the Western part of the United States, where border patrols and security has created conflict between the federal and state governments. However, it has also created a tension between residents of these border towns and immigrants who are perceived to be taking away scarce resources from them. America as the land of opportunity and the melting pot of different cultures has come unto a lot of strain in the last decade as a result of problems caused by immigration. Pulling Hispanics over for no just reason is racist. Also it takes away the freedoms of any legal Hispanic living in America. Hispanics have the same rights as anyone. Hispanics don’t have to be pulled over for documentation. This law is very “unconstitutional”; it’s against the rights of anyone living in America. Many social icons like actress Rosario Dawson together with Mike Honda have sided with the citizens of Arizona and believe the law is targeting “non whites”(“Dawson”). They believe the law is taking up most of Arizona’s money, and is hurting the economy of Arizona. Apart from hurting the economy, it makes legal aliens feel like criminals and causes them to stay far way from the police. Not only celebrities are against this bill, the head of state also has a strong dislike for this bill. In a recent news article Obama stated his views on the Arizona Immigration Law. He believes the law goes against American morals. It is wrong for the police to stop citizens because of their appearance or how they sound. Although Obama is against the passing of the immigration law, he does admit that there is a problem. He states that he hopes to tackle the border patrol but tries to instill the American history as a land of “immigrants”(“Obama”). The law needs proper revision in order to make all parties satisfied. Due to the color of your skin or ethnicity, a police officer should not stop a person and ask for their documentation. Although the passing of the law has generated a lot of controversy, it has created the opportunity for national debate for a uniform federal law for all the states. The Arizona Immigration Law prevents undocumented workers from making a living. Many of the illegal aliens have come to America to work and support their families. America is a gateway to the removal of all their suffering. It removes the aliens from poverty. In America legal aliens are open to schooling and the bettering of themselves. As we all know there are many people who use this opportunity wisely, and there are others who abuse the system to benefit themselves
