The topic of abortion has always been controversial . Today people still
argue over the issues and ideas of terminating a pregnancy. Some big court cases such as
Roe vs. Wade has spread the knowledge over abortion. The case was decided in 1973 by
the supreme court. The decision legalized abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy.
Lobbying over abortion was turning into a sleepy business. But the health care debate has
brought a new boom, and both sides are exploiting it with fund-raising appeals. (

ending abortion debate.
I have always felt that if a young developed fetus can feel no pain than
terminating the unborn baby would be justified based on the choice of the Mother and
Father. The fetus does not define a human being due to still being attached to the
umbilical cord. The health of the fetus relies on the health of the mother and it can’t be
recognized as a independent human because it wouldn’t be able to survive outside the
mothers womb. Adoption is not an alternative to abortion, because it remains the
woman's choice whether or not to give her child up for adoption. Statistics show that very
few women who give birth choose to give up their babies - less than 3% of white
unmarried women and less than 2% of black unmarried women. (According to Linda Lowen).
