Are sports beneficial for youth? BY: Mohammed Ali Halawi “He dribbles down the field, he crosses out everyone who gets in his way, he shoots, and he misses...? How are sports benefitting our youth? Is something you play just to pass time? Or is it more than that? In my opinion it's more than you might see it as. You may not realize this but sports motivate and inspire our youth, keeps them active minded and in shape, and believe in or not, educates them. Sports motivate and inspire our youth in a couple of ways. It keeps them competitive and stops them from quitting after one try. It also makes them look to a pro, a pro inspire them with his achievements and motivates them to be like him and to do that they push themselves to the limit. For example, I look up my taekwondo instructor who is a fifth degree black belt, and has faced Olympic fighters, seeing him train and learning from him motivates me to be better so I can achieve my goals. His achievements inspire me. That's how sports motivate and inspire our youth. Sports also keep our youth active minded and in shape. It keeps them in shape playing the sport it's self is a great workout. It keeps them active minded, from having fun to completing your workout, you will enjoy sports and choose them over video games. It is also scientifically proven that all sports keep the youth with an active and open minded in school. That's why sports are a good way of keeping the youth active and open minded. Sports also believe it or not educate the youth, and in many ways. It is scientifically proven that sports educate the youth in some way. It's helps with coordination skills and stuff like that. For example, taekwondo educated me with pleasure points of the body and how to use it against an opponent. It also increases my coordination and timing skills. It educates you in strategic planning.
