In order for a sitcom to be great, it should be re-watchable. Seinfeld has a number of inside jokes including catch phrases and character flaws which are repeated throughout the episodes. The inside jokes are generally only picked up by dedicated viewers who realise that they’re funny, hence they are necessary in re-watchability. Another factor in a great sitcom is chemistry among the characters. The characters of Seinfeld have such great chemistry that we love to watch them, and feel like a part of it.
Pine Ridge Players to perform Tartuffe! By Lizzy Parsons Special to the Beacon Remember being little and having your favorite Dr. Seuss stories read to you at night? There were hypocrites, liars, funny little men, and creatures of all sizes. Well, Tartuffe brings that to life, minus all of the silly creatures. “Tartuffe reminds me of a grown up version of a Dr. Seuss book.” says Casey McCall, who plays Mariane, “It really is a great Show, and I think that people will enjoy it a lot.” The audience is in for quite the surprise when they see this show.
Shindler and Goeth. The performance by Goeth really shows what a real Nazi acted like back then. The film is also very graphic and I like that it has a beauty mixed with its gruesome side. Shindler really was a great character because he was funny, mysterious, flirtatious, but he had a darker side that he showed superficially. Gattaca was the best in terms of entertainment.
Every time they see each other they have a repartee. Their repartees are very quickly and a little bit mean. But the truth is that they are very proud to accept that they love each other. In scene one we can see that Beatrice is the first that mention Benedick of all the characters but she mention him in a mean way “ I pray you, is Signior Mountanto returned from the wars or no?” This quotation shows us that Beatrice cares about Benedick but she express it in a mean way saying that Benedicck is a “show off.” Also Beatrice refers him as a stuffed man “ He is no less than a stuffed man.” The first impressions
And so, the actor becomes a catalyst; he or she brings ignition that spark in every human being that longs for the miracle of transformation”. The contribution is so important, because the audience relates to the human ingredient. I enjoyed watching the main character played by Halle Berry pull the audience in from scene one by her true attitudes and emotions of this drama genre. Halle Berry, became the character, she made me believe
Smith was always nice. She is an excellent sense of humor, or a least I think so. During a moment following one of her many court appearances with her ex husband, she came to work feeling vindicated. She felt that she “got him”. She was able to prove to the judge her case, but mainly happy because she still wants to hurt her husband.
The movie had humor in it which was distributed though-out the movie by many of the characters. For example, Wallace Shawn played an odd man named Vizzini and his character would keep saying, “Inconceivable” for just about everything. Even though everyone added his or her own little bit of humor, these two gentlemen were the ones who both with a shared sense of humor, which increased the level of comedy in this movie. Both Westley and Inigo had a knack for talking or joking around when fighting or dueling others. In most cases when someone would fight they wouldn’t talk, but these two couldn’t help it to talk while fighting.
I loved act one. The awkward humor when Becky and Max first met was great, and the story line really drew me in. The second act completely changed pace and that confused me a lot. Becky, instead of king of light and funny like she was in the first act, became aggressive and crazy. Max just became more of a dick, and the challenges in Susan and Andrews relationship added a lot of craziness to the show.
In my opinion “All in the family” was a great 1970’s sitcom. I really enjoy the reality of politics, sexuality and they way Americans’ view each other in the sitcom. I find the show to be brilliant and hilarious and most Americans’ don’t get Archie Bunker’s point of view on life and that’s why I think that the contrasts would outweigh the comparisons if this show were to air today. Some of the television’s jokes would still hold up today. When Archie picks on his wife and calls her names, it compares to the sitcom “Everybody loves Raymond”.
Everything about Mean Girls is hilarious to me. From the jokes, to the characters, it is all grade A comedy. My favorite thing about the film is how well it describes high school, but in such an over dramatic way. Another thing that I love about the movie is how the lines from it get stuck in my head. I swear I can say over 75% of the lines in this movie.
