‘Swot ’ Name Course Instructor Institution 4 April 2013 Introduction Apple Inc. is a multinational corporation in America. It is involved in designing, manufacturing and selling of personal computers, iPads, iPods, iphones, portable mp3 and mp4 players, iphones and other several accessories. Besides offering Mac OS, it also offers iLife and iWork softwares. The company has a strong brand name which makes it to be considered as one of the most successful companies in the world that deals with electronics (The Times of India, 2012). A SWOT analysis of an Apple Inc is a technique used to assess the internal and external elements which affect the company. The SWOT analysis comprises of Apple’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Strengths include Internal elements which give the company a competitive edge, Weaknesses comprises of Internal factors that makes the company to be disadvantaged, Opportunities are External factors which gives the company a room for expansion while Threats are those External elements that hinders the company from tremendous growth. Apple’s Strengths. It is widely believed that the Apple’s powerful brand name has very much contributed to intensified sales of its Macintosh computers. As is the trend in business, it is very costly to attract fresh customers than it is to cling to the existing ones. The recent unveiling of the iPad was groundbreaking. The company sold slightly over 3.27 million iPads, and it is approximated that sales may rise as high as 6 million in the final quarter (The Times of India, 2012). The company has managed unswerving OS (Mac OS) which is being acclaimed as free of virus. The shot in the arm for Mac sales is attributed to failures in Windows Vista.
