Apple was established on April 1, 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne, to sell the Apple I personal computer kit. In January of 1977 Apple was incorporated. In January of 1984 the company unveiled the Macintosh. From that point on Apple worked to be innovators of the technology world, with a small office of individuals who wanted to reinvent technology a conglomerate was born. Utilizing the four factors of management The Apple has grown tremendously over the last 30 plus years. With a clear mission statement; “Apple designs Macs, the best personal computers in the world, along with OS X, iLife, iWork and professional software. Apple leads the digital music revolution with its iPods and iTunes online store. Apple has reinvented the mobile phone with its revolutionary iPhone and App Store, and is defining the future of mobile media and computing devices with iPad” (Apple Inc. 2012). The four functions of management dictate work flow for all Apple employees. Many internal and external factors play a part in how business is run. Coupled with a high level of customer service and employee expectations Apple continues to thrive. This shows that their internal environment is conducive to growth and motivation. When employees feel like they are truly a part of a corporation’s growth they work harder to meet goals and deadliness set by management. Those who work for this corporation are aware of every piece of packaging, every swipe of the finger, every “How can I help you?” These things are not just factors sometimes they are constant in everyday functions. That’s how things are done at Apple. The result of the attention to detail and high levels of service and product knowledge leads to some of the best-loved products in the world.
