Using the documents, compare the views of major world religions on war. What additional kind of document(s) would you need to compare the views of major world religions on war?
While some religions, like Christianity and Islam, may have defended war in time of defense, other such as Buddhism condemned war at all accounts, as well as the Daoism. I will now go through some different religious views on war.
Doc. 1, selection from the Confucian Analects: It is saying that at times war is, necessary. The common people should be prepared, prior war. “James Legge, a missionary, a sinologist, a professor. The master said, “To lead an uninstructed people to war is to throw them away.” His point of view was that you must teach the men before you left them go off to war.” (doc. 1) Doc. 2, statements made by Gurus in the Sikh faith: The first Guru pledges love and peace for all humankind. A Guru, later, explained that there are some justifications for war when diplomacy fails. “J. Ferguson, a poet, a believer of peace until no other option is left.
