The atmosphere is heated from below – that is why it is warmer at the bottom. The higher you climb, the cooler it gets. Every 1000 metres up a mountain it is 6 degrees cooler. * Land wind: when the easterly wind blows from the mainland Europe; * Offshore wind: makes it warmer in the summer, and cooler in the winter. * Sea wind: when the westerly wind blows from the Atlantic Ocean; * Onshore wind: Makes it cooler in the summer and milder in the winter. * Ocean currents: if the wind over the sea keeps blowing (warm or cold wind) in one direction, and the seawater starts to move. So they look for a location where many people with know-how live. You usually find these in densely populated, urban areas. To make it attractive for the employees, they also look for where you would like to live. An agglomeration is a central with its surrounding towns and villages linked to it. Companies save money by being close to each other and near people. These advantages are called economies of agglomeration: * A large population is an advantage, because many people means there is also a large working population.
