Healthcare is very different from other free enterprise systems as there are many licensures that are required by various professionals and facilities, and some choose self-regulation via accreditation facilities. There is also a huge regulation due to the need of cost containment via certificate of need laws. These laws ensure that healthcare organizations are not just built on top of each other increasing cost for the consumer. This makes healthcare different from other organizations. Why don't we just let government take over all of health care and quit pretending it's a competitive business
Most people take medicine because of their doctors prescribes them. People in the United States have used prescription drugs for nonmedical reasons. This is prescription drug abuse. It is a serious and growing problem. Prescription drug abuse is when someone takes a medication that was prescribed for someone else or they take their own prescription.
First off, advocates of the system have attempted to suppress the facts regarding the affordability of it, and convince the American public that universal health care will be “free” for everyone. This is far from the truth. Under universal health care, the cost will merely be placed upon each and every American through excessive taxation, whether healthy or sick, young or old. Essentially, one may not have needed medical attention the entire year, yet they would still have to pay the same price, through taxes, as someone who needed multiple operations and treatments. Spreading the burden to the entire population is unfair, especially when considering treatments that are required as a result of one making poor health decisions, such as: smoking, obesity, and drug use.
Even though it is the patient's right to be able to participate in regimens for anti-aging therapy, the nurse has the obligation to warn the patient concerning side effects of such treatments. During the 30 day program, Scott experienced the negative effects of the injections. Not only was if affecting him physically but also personally. The patient is a whole person and must be able to function in various roles in society. Exposure to unregulated drugs and therapies could wreak havoc on the form and function of an individual's abilities to accomplish these
The sheer numbers involved results is a random combination of health implications. Most people will not notice anything, or pass any slight symptom off as getting older. Other people who have more of a reaction will go to the doctor and get diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a catch all disease that was created about a decade ago to give doctors something to tell the patient when they complained. The doctors can't accurate diagnose or understand what or why a patient is feeling a certain way, so the corrupt medical establishment gives them this nonsense to spew.
In arguing against the legalization of physician assisted suicide the arguments are often the same and very repetitive covering the same concerns and issues that would arise if it was legalized. The reasons or concerns have to do with the clarity of mind the patient has when the decision is being made, if there’s a medical error, the possibility of a cure, the patient feeling guilty and/or like they are a financial burden, not enough patients would request the PAS, and the slippery slope argument. (Notes from class June 4, 2012). All of these arguments however can be proven invalid, or simply not strong enough to be reason for the illegalization of physician assisted suicide. Clarity of mind has to do with a
Physician Assisted suicide The phrase “do no harm” is not actually mentioned in the Hippocratic Oath but that dose not mean that the words in the oath are not upheld, the oath goes much deeper to cement the extreme responsibilities of a doctor and to ensure that it is a patient is first a person not a disease. As a doctor should always exorcise every available option to treat a healthy patient there is an ongoing debate on weather the same treatment is carried out on a patient thought to be terminally ill. The debate has stirred up a great deal of emotions and is near and dear to many American hearts. With the issue of Physician Assisted Suicide many points are discussed for and against In the Articles: “Death And The Law: Why Government Has An Interest In Preserving Life” By Lawrence Rudden and Gerard V. Bradley and “Promoting A culture Of Abandonment” By Teresa R Wagner. Physician assisted suicide is something I disagree with because It would violate the trust between a patient and a doctor, It opens the floodgates for other such abuses and generally such requests are made out of fear for the dying process.
Sickle-Cell Anemia Sickle-Cell Anemia is common in many diversities of race regardless of age. With the improvement of scientific technologies, the disease itself, along with causes and signs has become a familiar topic of discussion in the home, work-place, school, medical facilities and laboratories. It is a disease that can cause fear; but with proper medical care and treatment, an individual can live a productive life. Now, what is Sickle-Cell Anemia? Some signs and symptoms, effects on the body and is there a cure.
Another treatment for mentally ill people is prescription drugs. Prescription drugs are used a lot today to treat many different illnesses but the first anti-psychotic drug wasn’t brought to the market until the late 1950’s. These drugs are used to help people control their symptoms of psychosis (Mental Health). It’s an everyday medication that a mentally ill person takes so they can control their disorder. Along with therapy and treatment, an organization called the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill or NAMI is formed to support parents, family members, and loved ones and help them by educating them on the illness that the person has and
(Weinrich,Weinrich) It seems that this could be called the “time of the pill”, as everything can be fixed by taking medicine. People tend to not realize that just taking medicine only covers up the fact that there is problem. Pills are just like slapping a band aid on a deep cut that would rather require stitches. Not to mention, there can be many side affects that could lead to other medical issues as well. Many doctors and physicians may offer medicine in pill form; yet, a therapists hand can treat the actual condition and not just the symptom.
