Anti-Christmas forces winning everywhere:
Christianity is being dubbed down when it comes to the Christmas holiday.
More than 1,200 public schools in the New York City area have been told they can’t
have a Christmas tree out for display. They have been told that they can’t have any
purely religious symbols that have “secular dimension” be out for display. However,
the menorah and the crescent are still being publicly displayed, even though they
are the next to go.
A Roman Catholic mother of two public school children was taken to trial by
the Thomas More Law Center. She was taken on behalf of her argument on how the
Christian crèche should be allowed since the schools are allowing the brief and
educational use of religious symbols for the Muslim and Jewish faith. This has
created a lawsuit, which is now under appeal by the District Judge Charles Sifton. As
of now, the crèche is banned.
The Christmas tree was banned from peoples’ property in the city of Eugene,
Ore. However, it’s allowed to be assembled on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If
one person filed a complaint in the neighborhood about the tree, by their rules, the
tree would have to come down. Santa Claus is being accused of offending the
children that are not of Christianity. The sensitivity argument in this article is that
“any reference to Christmas at all might make someone feel bad.”
Some schools are starting to show no recollection to Christmas whatsoever.
A principal of the Braden Middle School in Florida has stated that there will be no
connection to Christmas at all. Some schools throughout the US are even banning
the word “Christmas”. The White House still calls their tree “The Christmas Tree”,
however the Capitol calls their tree “The Holiday Tree”. Schools throughout the
country are also banning Christmas songs of religious backgrounds. If the people do
