Annoying Habits of Classmates In life, education is the key to success without it you can only get so far. Being in class should class should consist of a calm learning environment, but of course there’s always minor distractions that take place. Distractions that can hinder you from your learning. Fellow classmates can be very annoying at times, talking during instruction, making abrupt noises, and even chewing gum loudly. These annoying habits of classmates can easily cause a student to fail the course. If I had to choose a major distraction in class caused by students would have to be talking during instruction. Talking during instruction can easily distract you from learning new material. This distraction has to be one of the most difficult pet peeves to ignore. It also holds up the whole class because when a classmate is talking, the instructor obviously has to stop and tell that that certain student “be quiet”. So overall, if a student is talking in class he or she is not only disturbing you, but the whole class as well. I think that I speak for every student when I say making abrupt while in class can be very irritating. Abrupt noises is just as bad as talking in class. Most students tend to do this when there is a substitute instructing the class, they make loud noises looking for attention. Students that desire attention in class are not worried about learning new material, they’re just worried about their own reputation. Abrupt noises mainly occur during tests, which is the worst time to distract fellow classmates. They say that chewing gum can help you focus and pay more attention in class, but in my perspective I think otherwise. Every student feels the need to have gum while in class, is that a problem? No, but it can be when it’s being chewed loudly. Immature student like to chew loudly to let everyone else in class know they have gum, but
