Year 10 Animal Farm Report 1. Introduction: Animal Farm is George Orwell's satire on equality, where all animals live complimentary from their human masters' dictatorship. Animal Farm is a novel that talks about the events that lead up to and during the Stalin era just before World War II. Motivated to rebel by Major, animals on Mr. Jones' Manor Farm embrace Animalism and stage a revolution to achieve an naive state of justice and progress. A power-hungry pig, Napoleon, becomes a tyrannical dictator who leads the Animal Farm into "All Animals Are Equal / But Some Are More Equal Than Others" subjugation. This report will discuss the two animals Napoleon and Snowball and will also talk about the event when Snowball got chased out of the farm. 2. Characters a. Character One: Napoleon Napoleon is a pig who is the leader of Animal farm. Napoleon is based upon, Joseph Stalin, and how Stalin gradually built up his power by using many different people to help him. Napoleon is not a very good leader in Animal Farm and only leader because he wants power and control and these views are the same for Stalin. Napoleon had many political ideas that he represented. Some being that Napoleon believes that pigs should be on top. Napoleon always betrays democratic principles to get power and is a political schemer. In the novel, Animal Farm, the other animals always believe that “Napoleon is always right”(Orwell 1945, pg 48) which shows that the animals are getting convinced that Napoleon is a great leader which gives him more power. Stalin shows this when he forges an alliance with Kamenev and Gregory Zinoviev against Trotsky. With Stalin having more allies it gave him more power. The Novel Animal Farm states that, “As Napoleon was deceiving the neighboring farmers he was tricking his own animals.” (Orwell 1945, pg 36) This quote shows that Napoleon was desperate to
