Animal Cruelty: Cosmetic Testing

This world believes that animals don’t have a right. Those testing and hurting animals’ is what is needed in order to get their work and research complete. What about the animals that are being tested on for the sake of beauty in cosmetics. There are over ninety-five percent of animals that are not protected for this cause under the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). Animal testing is wrong, and knowing this it should be stopped. Animals are still enduring the torture of experiments for cosmetic research. Some people know that there are organic, healthy, and non-animal testing methods you can use to get the same results. For starters, the testing process for animals is cruel and unusual punishment. They will test the value of new shampoo products by using rabbits as their tests subjects usually. In doing so the rabbit has to have its eye held open by clips so they can see how it is affecting the eyes; the rabbits stay like this for days without being able to blink or wash the materials out of their eyes. The commonly used LD50 (lethal dose 50) test involves finding out which dose of a chemical will kill 50% of the animals being used in the experiment. Animals go through so many cruel things, because of the cosmetic industry that is allowing it. [] Researchers in Aston University have made it known that it is not worth taking the lives of these animals for testing, because the things we’re trying to make happen with human bodies is very different from the animal body. The anatomic, metabolic, and cellular differences between animals and people make animals poor models for human beings. There is a big percentage from the 1950’s up till now that animal testing is flawed by not being correct when it is given to the people it is for. So why not just stop the animal experiments that are not just killing, but also torturing the animals.
