Becoming a governor in his region of Rome wasn’t good enough, he wanted to be crowned king and serve as a dictator for life, something that Rome didn’t have for five hundred years. His need for absolute power, to become greedy and to bring Rome under Monarchy corrupted him and altered his thinking. Instead of thinking about the Roman people, he was thinking about himself, and that made him a bad leader. Another reason that he wasn’t a good leader was that he was weak. Although he appeared to be strong to the commoners, he was seen as weak to his own Senate members, especially Cassius.
I am going to answer these questions and more throughout this essay. He was an enemy of the confederate states, John Wilkes Booth killed him and Andrew Johnson took presidency. Abraham was the leader of the north and led them during the civil war against the south. Lincoln was the first American president to be assassinated but certainly was not the last. President Lincoln was killed because the conspirators, like John Wilkes Booth, were angry at how the north fought the Civil War since the outcome was not good for them.
After this victory in Kazan, Ivan was not thought of as a boy anymore by his people and became known as Ivan the Terrible. The term 'terrible' was used to show the people's respect for Ivan as a leader. It is said that Ivan blinded the architect who he had construct the cathedral to be sure that no cathedral was ever built to look similar. Ivan suspected that Anastasia was poisoned and became obsessed with seeking out the culprits. He married six more times after this only for political advantages.
Cousin Francis yelled, “He`s nothing` but a nigger-lover!” (Lee pg83). Just because Atticus was doing the right and noble thing, Cousin Francis thought that he loved black people but he did not know Tom. Although, Jem stated that, “Atticus says cheatin` a coloured man is ten times worse than cheatin` a white man.” (Lee pg201) It is worse because it is like killing a mockingbird, which is a sin, coloured men do not really bother anybody. And then Atticus explained that, “...You’ll see white men cheat black men everyday of your life, ...whenever a white man does that to a black man, ... that white man is trash.” (Lee pg220). He explained that white men always win and cheat, so the white men are the victors but the white man is always a bad man.
It is correct that he supported the American Revolution, which nearly bankrupted him- but without his support, America may not have won Her independence. When he ascended the throne, Louis inherited a country in terrible debt. The people of France also deeply resented his grandfather and the nobility who were seen as despots. So he started out on a bad foot. Men named Turgot and Malesherbes
Some were even offered bonuses. What was interesting to me is that Vermont refused to help the Federal government and President Fillmore threatened to use the army to enforce the Fugitive Slave Act. Nothing came out of this incident. The new law of 1850 left a very bitter taste in a lot of mouths. The author of these pages wanted us to focus our attention on all the hardship that African Americans had to endure whether slave or free.
Appy says of a firefighter who lost his son “He was furious because he saw antiwar activists as privileged and disrespectful snobs who 'insult everything we believe in” without having to share his family’s military and economic sacrifices. In virtually the same breath, however, he said about the war his time, “The sooner we get the hell out of there [Vietnam] the better.”(142) What he meant was he did not think the protestors had the right to speak against the war because they and their families where not the ones being affected whether it be economically or personally such as having to loose a loved one. The working class also felt as if the wealthy politicians were forcing them go to war, but they were not the ones actually fighting in the war. This led to much distain towards the upperclass and had many of them questioning if the war was really worth it. With the working class not being able to side directly with the “hawks” or “doves” it left them without a voice.
(1. 260-267) This is saying that if Odysseus were there at the time he would have kicked all of the suitors out of his house. At first Telemachus blames the suitor’s presence on the fact that his dad is fighting the war instead of taking action himself and getting rid of the suitors. The suitors are portrayed as bad people in the Odyssey because even though their hosts are following the rules Xenia the suitors just keep taking and taking from them. We also know that Penelope doesn’t want the suitor in the house any more that Telemachus does because she stalled them for six years when she wove and unwove the quilt.
He also learns that his grandfather was a dominating, immoral and scheming. David and his parents went face to face with dealing with the consequences of Frank’s crime. Racial prejudice means any action practice or belief that reflects the racial world view the ideology that humans are divided into separate groups because of their skin colour. The American Indians are racially prejudiced by most of the people in Montana, they are going through a hard life and living in a desolate reservation; also their lands are probably the least valuable compare to other regions. David eventually learns of the racial discriminations such as not allowing “an athlete like Ronnie” to attend college.
