Hester consoled him and tried to make him feel better. Hester also realized she still loved Dimmesdale and begged for his forgiveness because of her never saying he was her lover. Hester was now conscious of the deep injury for which she was responsible to this unhappy man, because he let him lie for so many years, or just for a single moment. Which was the real reason why Dimmesdale’s health kept getting worse. He felt guilty that he didn’t confess he was the other adulterer when Hester was standing on the scaffold seven years earlier while getting
How far di Sources X and Y challenge Source W about the effective supplying of the army? William Russell, in source W, writes about the food supplies to the army, and how the army were being sufficiently fed and that perhaps the food shortages suggestions were supposedly untrue. Its views definitely differ from those shown in sources Y and W where they people talk about the lack of supplies of both food, and clothing, which they blame mostly down to the weather conditions. Source Y, which is a letter home from a doctor at the Crimea says the last two weeks supplies have been unable to reach the army which he blames for the ‘bad weather’. Source Y comes from a journal written by an officer in the Heavy Brigade.
Waiting and waiting was all that she got accomplished that day, aside from the painting of the door, due to the intense worriment she has been accompanied with. Silence became her dear friend as she resented the actions of her husband towards his father. Along with the chilling atmosphere that the cold breeze had brought inside, Ann began to examine every part of her life that she was not impressed with. The burst of emotions was only egged on by results that the storm had caused. Internally, she began to feel sorry for herself, but really had no idea what she would be missing.
Because there is only a certain amount of treatment that a body can with stand. Her father starting thinking that he was a burden to his daughter so some of the treatment that he was taking he start refusing but his daughter would not give up on him. There are so many good things to say about Susan Wolf, but the best thing you can say about her is that she is a Angle sent from heaven just for her father. The story about her father death really touched me and after I read it the first time I had to read it again and then tell someone about it. It make you think what could you have possibly done in that situation.
Individuals who abuse adults often threaten, harass, or intimidate them. For example, some abusers threaten to not let the elderly adults see their grandchildren. Others may prevent older adults from having visitors, or may threaten to leave them alone. They often feel shame, guilt, or embarrassment that someone in the family or someone close has harmed them. The
It’s not he/she place to discriminate, or to treat Sandra differently because beliefs are different. Growing up we were always taught to treat others as you want to be treated. In healthcare I feel it is a lot different. It’s your job to always treat the patient with respect and understand their needs and wants. Although Sandra was not conscious and could not make choices herself, the staff tried contacting her next of kin, when they were unreachable they took matters into their own hands to help Sandra.
John’s biggest downfall in this story is the fact that he is stuck with the unfortunate task of being not only his wife’s lover, but also her doctor. Instead of being a concerned husband and being there for his wife mentally, he took a more clinical attitude to the situation and there for our narrator was left to her own devises. Also John only knows the “pattern” of his wife and does not see the trapped woman with in. John truly care for his wife and is trying everything in his power to help and cure her. Unfortunately the only way he knows how to help her it by treating her as a medical patient or as an object and not as a person who needed love, not just care.
Some think that as soon as a woman finds out she will be a mother, that she should have no problem quitting drinking. It’s just as hard for them to quit, as it is for someone who is not pregnant. For most mothers admitting to this can be a humiliating experience. Currently, physicians rely heavily on history-taking to screen for women at high risk of alcohol consumption during pregnancies (Cook). However, these screenings are not enough since patients are reluctant to admit the amount of alcohol they consume and physicians are reluctant to talk about it with patients (Burd).
Biff and Willy often find it very challenging to get along, and most of the time we see Linda trying to resolve their differences. Although while Linda is only trying to do good amongst her family by nurturing them with her advice, they usually do not take on board what she has said, and rather just ignore her completely. A feminist could argue that to Biff and Willy, they think that they’re putting her ‘in her place’. A place where perhaps her opinion does not matter. Linda occasionally argues her point across until she is yelling at members of the family and this may be because she is frustrated because she is never heard when she tries to give her opinion.
