Its hard to picture yourself in a world where everytime a loud noise is heard, the world for the noise is spelled out on screen. This movie also plays into our discussion of dreams. The first time I saw this movie, I felt like it played out like a dream. The non-important parts of the story like walking or a boring relationship were skipped and the film moved faster and more seamlessly. I feel like this is how a dream is.
They have ratings that they use all of the time, which helps to keep movies of all types to be produced. It is wrong to say someone can’t see something because of age, but it is a step in the right direction and most parents would agree on some age ratings. People should be allowed to read and say what they want. The first amendment is widely abused in modern media and across the country. The format that they use for media related things isn’t fully prepared and has a multitude of flaws amongst it.
When looking for books, online sources and movies, I never thought that the topic would be so political. Learning about the OWI for the first time really shocked me. It makes me wonder how many movies were written before the OWI could come along and change the script in order to boost morale. I attempted to look for controversial movies during this time that were "anti-war" but this task proved to be most difficult of all. Researching the information for my topic changed my outlook on early film.
Zoro’s relationship with Rose, a fellow artist in the film, is also a major theme as it is a concern for the character as he develops his art. The culture development in the film depicts how the development of modern culture struggled during their birth and corruption of such at that age would mean no culture today. There is more than just music to be learned from the film of Wild Style that is highly attractive even today. Many more people can learn from the characters that were used, their behavior and so forth. This after all is the purpose of creating films, to educate people about a certain subject that is familiar to the eye but understood differently by the minds.
The Outsiders, by Se Hinton, was very different from the movie the Outsiders. The book gave a lot move description but I’m glad I saw the movie to get the actual picture in my head. I don’t think people should by separate by the way they look or how much money they have. All people have feelings. If the movie had more detail it would be more interesting.
In Sullivan’s Travels, the montage of the casualties of the Depression that Sullivan witnesses underscores everything that the movie had previously eluded too. Like Sullivan, the audience does not appreciate how horribly that time affected people and those few seconds articulated the sentiment like no words could. The movie itself, made during the Depression, does what Sullivan realizes he needs to do—make a movie that gets people to laugh through the hard times. As Sullivan says, “There's a lot to be said for making people laugh… It isn't much, but it's better than nothing.” While in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, there is not one line that sums up the entire movie’s premise, there is a lot more than one montage to show us. The audience sees Mr. Smith fighting for something he believes in, despite everything that suddenly hits him.
Week 4 Assignment 1 Veronica Myers COM 200 Interpersonal Communication Rosa Farmer April 5, 2012 The movie that I decided to watch was Hitch. I have seen this movie a couple of times before, but this time I paid more attention to the conflicts that was going on rather than just watching the movie. I have found that the interpersonal conflict in the movie Hitch is miscommunication and misunderstanding. The interpersonal conflict in the movie Hitch is the same in life. There are times when things are said that are taken out of context and you wish that you could take them back.
The worst that can happen is that they disagree with me. As a film student, it is important to contribute ideas and clearly state your vision so the film will look like how you planned. If you do not speak up or clearly state your message, then nothing will go exactly how you envisioned. Through exploring the stages of a research paper, I think it really helped me learn how to organize my ideas. I mean that sometimes I like to make claims without backing them up.
Both versions have similarities, but at the same time those similarities contrast both movies to show just how different they really are. The original sets a guideline for the plotline, scenes, and characters, but the remake of the movie added its own twist on those three categories. Another difference, and probably the most drastic, is the differences in the portrayals of the characters. In the original, the main character seemed to focus more on the production and magnitude of the movie he is producing. The main character was focused on making a movie that people will remember, rather than making a movie to get him rich.
Movie review: Mulholland Drive "Mulholland Drive" is a film that is hard to grasp and will be hard to review with just one viewing of the film, but I will attempt to write one. This is a film which I was disappointed in at first, but as the film went on and then afterwards, was convinced that it is a masterpiece of a film. I won't spend much time writing about the plot, but will describe briefly what the audience sees on the screen. As with most David Lynch films, it's not the plot that matters anyway. The story centers on the life of two women in Hollywood.
