Analyzing eating habits of Lingnan University students living in hostels I. Introduction Background information As the old saying goes, you are what you eat. A good eating habit is one of the fundamental elements of a healthy life. However, due to the extremely busy and stressed lifestyle in Hong Kong, people tend to put a healthy eating habit in a less important place intentionally or unintentionally compared to that of work or study. A healthy eating habit may provide you sufficient energy for a whole day, prevents you from having stomach problems and even could improve efficiency of your work and study. University students living in hostels, generally do not have good self-control abilities and the awareness of importance of eating healthily every day. They may have an unbalanced diet, eat irregularly, or eat unhealthily willingly or unwillingly. Therefore, it is prominent to analyze their eating habits and discover what could be done to improve their eating habits. Objective The main objective of this research is to find out the eating habits of Lingnan students who live in hostels. The directions of our research: · The content of the meal they usually eat referring to the food pyramid · The eating routine of students · What students suggest Lingnan University to help them achieve a good eating habit · Why or why not some of the students cook · What students usually cook Methodology The questionnaire was composed by four members of research group to concentrate on the above objectives. It was first checked by the four group mates, a few classmates and professor for the purpose of guaranteeing our objectives could be achieved.
