In the early 1800's many people came into America looking for new opportunities and played an important role in our countries history. In Germany there were many reasons why people wanted to migrate to America. Because of modernization many family businesses failed and the people hoped that they could bring their businesses to America. Population density was also a problem. There was also lots of political problems in Germany and random attacks from outside nations that scared many people into immigration.
The Grapes of Wrath follows the difficulties of Joad’s and their journey into a land they thought was going to bring a better life. Their whole views change though when they saw what California was really like for the migrant workers. Though these ideas were more externally shown by some, the whole family felt the change. The Joad’s are a fictional family, but there may have been families just like them in the 1930’s traveling to find a better life in the West. The Dust Bowl was hard on many Americans from the mid Untied States and their stories maybe just the same as the Joad’s in John Steinbeck’s Grapes of
Due to the different ethnicities, many immigrants found the transition to American life quite difficult, despite their efforts to ease the transition by assimilation into U.S. society. (Schultz, 2014) The repaid expansion of American cities caused the appearance of tenements, something never before seen. The tenements were narrow four to five-story buildings with few windows, limited plumbing and electricity. (Schultz, 2014) The tenements nurtured disease, high infant mortality, and horrendous issues with pollution, and were often the site of racial and ethnic
No explanation, you just have to understand it by yourself. If people ask me about the same question, I’m sure I can’t give them the right answer
The security System has really changed after 9/11, basically the Airport has been escalated, where they check every single thing on you and they also do randomly checks on anyone if does matter what colored race you are. The Middle Eastern people were victims in my point of view, because why treat them as if they did it, when really it was the people in Iraq. They didn’t move out of Iraq for just any old reason, they moved because they want a better life for their children and family. So to my very Beautiful Grandchild or Grandchildren the September 11, 2001 doesn’t mean you can't walk out… Plus you shouldn’t be scared every day…It means be cautions of

This phenomenon is new and thousands of illegal immigrants have come into the United States looking for a “better life”. From year to year, Americans have done their best to get their voices heard and get the changes they wanted to see. The 1950’s and 1960’s were a very important time of social unjust and upheaval. Politically and socially, changes were taking place throughout the United States. However, social issues close to the hearts of Americans—racial inequality, discrimination against women, and the Sexual Revolution— seemed
Ten years ago I had to face a great challenge in my life when I had to move to The United States of America to find a better life. I moved to the United States because my country is very poor and I found not opportunities to study and to become the person I always want to be. Life in the United States was not easy
The challenges we face Can you imagine moving from one country to another? Can you imagine leaving your friends and family and go to a place where your language, and religion is different? Well it happened to me, moving to America from Pakistan was a big step for family and I. A place where women covered themselves at all times, where it is hard to find a job, where the education does not have value like the education in America does, where the language is Urdu or Hindi. All this is a huge difference from what we call the land of freedom and opportunities: “The United States of America.” Education opportunities in America pulled us from Pakistan.
Though America may not treat immigrants as badly as other countries we should welcome them with open arms. Many immigrants say the same thing when asked the question, “Why did you choose to come to America?” Their answer is often that America is said to have more opportunities. My Aunt once told me that people would tell her that the roads were paved with gold. These immigrants truly believe that by bringing their families to America they would be able to provide better lives for them. In the case of some immigrants there may be more opportunities in America for them, but because of the immigration laws they are stuck with unfair and unjust low paying jobs.
