Bullying has been going on a long time in our society, especially in middle schools and high schools. Kids and teenagers are getting hurt because of bullying. People get tease on what they wear, disorders, sexuality and even for no absolute reason. In her essay, “A Separate Peace” Kayla Webley suggests that school districts provide a separate school for bullied students. This sounds like a very good idea but to me this will not stop the bullying from schools. If the society doesn’t do something about the bullying, it will actually affect the ones being bullied when they get older. Bullying does not only happen at school but also it happens in communities too. It has been becoming a very serious matter in society. People are shooting and killing each other because of bullying. The society has to prevent people of getting bullied by enforcing a law in our communities. The government have to pass a law about bullying at school and society that, bullying is not acceptable in anywhere in schools or society, so if anyone caught bullies bullying someone they must be remove from the particular school or if in the society the bullies have spend one or two days in jail or do community work depending on how bad they hurt the person. Our society has to pay attention when someone is getting bullied and intervene immediately and put a stop to it right away before it’s too late. Webley quotes in the article that though GSAs and other efforts work to promote a climate of respect, progress is often slow and advocates for schools like Alliance say there is no reason for LGBT students should be forced to endure hardship until society gets to the point where all the schools are safe for all students. “Acceptance is not happening fast enough”, says Weiden. We need to help these kids by providing them with a better option, a safe space, right now.
