29. Critical Book Review “Astonishing! Amazing! Absolutely must be read! Like fellow critics I must agree Robin Benway’s Audrey, Wait! is truly a great read. Benway is able to put music and libel in one – both things teens these days just eat up! The book begins with protagonist Audrey Cuttler – the Music God’s very own daughter (not really). Cuttler is described as a blond babe whose life is nothing but the music – the clothes, the attitude, even the boyfriend. However, when Audrey breaks up with her boyfriend Evan – her life is turned upside down when Evan writes a hit song about their break up. Paparazzi everywhere! In her school, in her lawn, even on her dates! At first, Cuttler soaks in the world’s love – adoring fans, V.I.P access, and even a few rendezvous with some boys. Then, our heroine is thrown into despair when all she really wants is some privacy and to submerge back to her anonymous life. What does Audrey Cuttler do to win back her life? This book is definitely a must read – I swear you won’t be able to put it down until you’re done! It’s a page turning master piece! We must admit we all fantasize what it’d be like to live the life of fame and glory – and Benway gives us a firsthand experience. If you want a story that will have you rocking out by the end of it Audrey, Wait! is the way to go. A head banging, mosh pitting, surf crowding good of a book. You just can’t go wrong with Robin Benway’s Audrey, Wait! It’s fresh, it’s exciting, and it’s a good read. Jump on the bandwagon and buy, borrow, or even steal (but not really) your copy
