Our group choose NIKE’s football jerseys as our project topic target. Football is a worldwide popular sport. Macau also devotes to develop and promotes this sport around the populace. For example, Macau Sport Development Board and Macau Football Association has funded the Football Youth Academy to encouraging teenagers to participate in football. First, we analyzed the current situation of the NIKE’s football jerseys. Here is the SWOT analysis. Strength: Nike is a very competitive organization. Nike has a healthy dislike of is competitors. Thus the positive brand effect lead public believes NIKE’s jersey’s quality and directly Nike’s publicity strategy is very successful. Almost everyone has ever heard about their slogan “JUST DO IT”. What’s more, Nike has no factories. It does not tie up cash in buildings and manufacturing workers. This makes a very lean organization. Nike is strong at research and development, as is evidenced by its evolving and innovative product range. They then manufacture wherever they can produce high quality product at the lowest possible price. If prices rise, and products can be made more cheaply elsewhere (to the same or better specification), Nike will move production. Thus, when comparing with other same level competitors like Adidas and PUMA, NIKE;s football jerseys has an advantage in lower price. Weakness: As it’s mentioned on strength, Nike has no factories by its own, it leads to the lack of quality at some level. We found in the survey, Users said that the jersey had poor durability, it could be torn easily. The organization does have a diversified range of sports products. However, the income of the business is still heavily dependent upon its share of the footwear market. This may leave it vulnerable if for any reason its market share erodes.
