Pearl is the outcome of the sin. She represents the Scarlet Letter, or better to say, she is the living symbol of the Scarlet letter. However, she meant treasure to her mother, a gift from the Almighty God, and brought liveliness and happiness to her life. ““God gave me the child?” cried she.
I was taught God did not hate the sinner but he hates the sin, and homosexuality was presented to me as a sin. I was indoctrinated from a very early age that it was a choice to be gay and if you made that choice you were immoral, and would possibly end up in hell. “God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve”, my mentors would joke. It was a sin in my young eyes just to be gay so obviously gay marriage was out of the question. As most kids who have had religion shoved down their throat I didn’t begin to truly question this belief that homosexuality was wrong
They are contradicting themselves because they are only giving some of us the right to marry in search of real happiness, the others are expected to shack up and pretend. If you are what is considered to be a straight person, you can go out, meet your soul mate, get married and have that wonderful American dream everyone talks about all in one night. Homosexuals however, can go out, meet their soul mate, and move in together but that’s about as far as they can get legally. They won’t be allowed to marry or reap the benefits of marriage in most states and if they decide to move to a state that honors same sex marriage it will only be honored in that
When talking about homosexual vs. heterosexual unions, they are comparable in all ways; however, legalizing them together would cause irrevocable damage to our already weak view of the institution of marriage. Our young generation is in a time where they are being told how to speak and sometimes think, and societal indifference to gay marriage would further confuse our youths who already find their sexuality hard. Moral rejections come from what a person thinks should be right within Christianity. Most moral reasons for rejecting Christianity stem from the actions of a Christian not necessarily Christianity. Some examples are the treatment of the homosexual, the hypocrisy of a Christian, and Historical mistakes. As an Ex-gay I have some firsthand experience in the homosexuality issue and can say that I was occasionally met with hateful statements. These statements hindered my acceptance of the Beautiful and Wonderful Gospel of Christ.

He states that it is either Christianity went wrong or our instincts went bad. He believes that our instincts have gone wrong. He goes on to say that we have been lied to and that our sexual desires is in the same state of any of our other natural desires and if we stop hiding it then things will be alright. Many people think that Christian Chastity is impossible, but when one really puts there mind to it they will be surprised at what they can overcome. Lewis then goes on to say that we cannot simply do it on our own strength but to go to God for our strength.

The problems related to sexuality in our society such as STD's stem from carefree, frivolous lifestyles; in other words, having frequent, unprotected sex with many partners. Marriage encourages people to settle down and to give up that type of lifestyle. Married people commit themselves to one partner and work to build a life together. Spouting off Bible verses before they even had a chance to realize how foolish it made them appear. This is America, the land of hypocrites. Most of the time the same people who say homosexuality and interracial relationships are an abomination are forgetting that Christ told them not to judge one another. To this day we still have this issue… as someone in an interracial relationship it’s inescapable. If our government is waiting for our people to remain silent on homosexual marriage before legal action is made, then we will be waiting
