An Unconditional feeling Love is defined as a profoundly tender and passionate affection for another person. For some people, love is a complete devotion and endless adoration. For others is a temporary feeling that will disappear in time. In the short story of” Gift of the Magi” by O Henry, Love is manifested by generosity, compassion, and sacrifice. Likewise, the parable of “the prodigal son” Love is describes as an unconditional feeling that doesn’t go away no matter what. This paper will illustrate two kinds of true love. The first one is between two lovers Della and her husband Jim, and the second one is between a father and his younger son. All start in a small town, little before Christmas. Two lovers, Jim and Della who adore each other but cannot seem to find the perfect gift for each other. Della is all sad because she only been able to save one dollar and eighty-seven cents from her daily routine to get her husband a special gift. She feels that she can’t get a present that will really express what she feels for her beloved Jim. Della looks over and over but can’t figure out what will satisfy her husband. One dollar and eighty-seven cents it nothing near enough to buy a pleasant gift. In the other hand, Jim himself is not doing so well. He went from a pay cut down from $30 a week to $20. Life is getting harder as Christmas comes along. Jim wants to give the perfect gift but he is short in money. He thinks of all possible gift he can buy for his love and suddenly it comes to his mind how much his wife love her hair. So he decides to buy her a comb. Jim and Della are really worried about each. They take time to figure out what each other will appreciate as a gift. This act show us the greatness and the deeply love that Jim and Della have for each other.
