As I pondered upon whom a significant person in my life could be, I thought of a person who will always have a lasting effect on your decision and the way you perceive life. It’s the one person who knows you best and of course the person who has the most influence on your life and in this case all I could think about was my eldest brother. He supports me with my decisions whether their positive or negative and he is like one of my best friends as well as a parental figure. I can go to him with any problem I face in my life and he has coached me on many things in life which has helped me and will continue to help me as I go on to pursue my dreams. I find it an awesome thing because he has taught me numerous things that can help me accomplish things in my life. My brother, Kareem has always been a great person to look up to. He’s not a selfish person and he is a great man in his home and community. After Hurricane Sandy hit in New York and New Jersey; although he didn’t have lights, he made sure he went out and helped those who did lose all of their belongings because he said “it could have been him.” He also showed me a stronger side of him when he got sick with an illness, he doesn’t let his sickness takeover him, and he always stays with a positive mindset. That’s one of many amazing things about him that shows he is an amazing influence. Being like a parental figure in my life he makes sure I do not go into the wrong path, he’s always on my case about everything but I know it’s for my best interest. He always tells me that he does this because he didn’t have a lot of people motivate him as much. My brother has taken many positions in my life. He can be considered a life coach, teaching me everything that he knows and more. He is always one of the first people I seek to when I need help with any current problem I come across.
