Nick Adams American Sniper I originally chose to do Unbroken, but I switched to reading American Sniper an autobiography by Chris Kyle. I chose this book because I was very interested in how and what the autobiography would be in relation to the American Sniper movie. The autobiography starts off with Chris not really knowing what he wants to do with his life, until he gets involved with the Navy Seals. The rest of the book then goes more in depth into his experiences in combat and how it has, and still does affect him and his family. This book has definitely lived up to my expectations in the fact that it takes a lot from the movie and delves deeper into certain situations. The end of the book is somewhat satisfying as Chris is starting to cope with his PTSD and help others who are dealing with it as well. However, after this book was written, as it was an autobiography, Chris was murdered by someone he was trying to help that has PTSD. I would recommend this book to anyone that is curious what war is like and what goes through a soldier's mind as they go through the experience, and how it stays with you for the rest of your life. Lastly, A book that we covered this semester that, in my opinion, relates very well to this novel is Schindler's List. It relates to American Sniper because Schindler is going through some of the same concepts and ideas that Chris is having/going through. Schindler is on his own, trying to build a company, and also saves very many people in the process. Chris is also trying to make it in the war and serve and protect his country. They are both working on their own and save many people in the process. They are both heroes that will be remembered for a very long
