As we ate our meal the waitress made many trips to give refills. The only problem with the service was the fact of another person bringing over our meal which is definitely understandable since the restaurant was considerably busy. Dining at Cracker Barrel was an enjoyable experience for me. With the abundance of fresh southern meals, and its unique and amazing environment, it simply helps you to relax while forgetting your troubles. During my visit to the Cracker Barrel I experience a historical atmosphere, the food was exceptional, the best of service, and although normally very busy, especially at prime season, it does not take long to get a table.

Bangladeshi people like to celebrate different kinds of occasions, and in every occasion, they prepare different kinds of dishes. For example, Bengali New Year is one of the biggest occasions for them; people wear red and white combination of dresses and eat a special food, which is called “Panta Elish”. People get time to enjoy most of the occasions because they can get help from other people if they want, but in Canada, it might not be possible. Now, that social structure has changed, and it has become rare to see someone sitting at the dinner table without their cellphone or laptop right by their side. This can be constraining to relationships between family and friends because of the lack of communication. We become too engaged with media and technology that we have no time for real life. Our family makes it a priority to get together for thanksgiving and Christmas and enjoy food, friends, and family. Of course this is not exclusive to just us, but the opportunity to enjoy each other during a time in history that is not as volatile is priceless to many of the older members of my family who have vivid memories of difficult times in the same city and town. Traditionally, the holidays are a time when we are able to cook and enjoy the soul food that we normally do not get to eat during the rest of the year. While there are times when meals are prepared throughout the year that consist of certain dishes, our family really makes a diligent effort to include all of the dishes that have been passed down for generations and have become a holiday staple for our family. Traditional dishes that are prepared by our family include: collard and turnip greens, ham hocks, chitterlings, macaroni and cheese, fried fish, ribs, neckbones, yams, fatback, cornbread, rice, grits, butter beans, black eyed peas, chicken livers, grits, lima beans, mashed potatoes, and hot sauce for seasonings.
