Such as when her son Bailey does not want her to bring her cat Pitty Sing on the trip. Instead of arguing about it she just hides the cat in a basket and brings it anyway. The grandmother then wishes to go visit an old plantation along the way yet knows that Bailey will not want to do this, her solution to this is to let the children persuade him. She tells the children of a house filled with secret panels and hidden treasure, this in turn gets them excited and begging Bailey to take them there for a visit. It is quite clear that through her actions that the grandmother is very selfish thus trying to satisfy her selfishness by manipulating others.
They have developed imagination and Scout is indulges in intelligent discussion with her father. This further alienates Scout and Aunt Alexandra from each other. Scout has been taught by Atticus to ‘walk around in their skin’ to see how it feels to be another person and why they make the choices that they do. She has a questioning mind for so young a child and Aunt Alexandra’s racist attitude and obvious distain for Scout is doubtless a reason for Scout’s anger and frustration towards her. Aunt Alexandra may have been brought with ‘genteel’ values and restrictive codes of conduct but with all this she is a forceful personality and manages to impose her will on Atticus by announcing her move, without consultation, to the Finch family home.
As quoted from the (plot overview sparknotes 5) “a handsome bachelor persuaded the governess to take a position as governess for his niece and nephew in a isolated home after the previous governess died”. One questions how come the previous governess was never talked about and what caused his or her death. Insanity is defined as a mental illness in a severe nature where as a person cannot distinguish the difference between fantasy and reality. This may cause a person to become delusional. Insanity is mostly discussed in courts to determine whether or not a criminal is innocent or guilty .one famous literary book that is a perfect example of insanity is “The Fall of the House of Usher by Egar Allen
Quote Analysis for The Crucible by Arthur Miller “Parris: …Let me know what you done there. Abigail, do you understand that I have many enemies?”(Miller 1.8). Parris has just learned that his daughter and niece have been involved in the summoning of spirits. Instead of worrying about their reputation as the participants, he immediately worries about his own name. This immediately shows that Parris is not the Godly character he is set up to be by the town and foreshadows that he is a corrupt leader in the village and that he will eventually be an antagonist.
“Clever Hans” is a cumulative tale and a cautionary tale. It is a cumulative tale because of the repetitive scenario of Hans going to meet Gretel, getting something from her, and coming home to his mom telling him that what he did with the object/creature that Gretel gave him was wrong. It is a cautionary tale because every time his mom told him what he should have done, he does that with the next item, without thinking for himself, and in the end loses Gretel. For example he throws actual eyes at her when his mom tells him to throw flirting eyes at her. This shows that one should think by themselves using common sense and that one solution/answer does not fit all situations.

Good morning/Afternoon fellow classmates and teacher. Before talking about my given quote I would like to tell you some information about king lear. | King Lear, the aging king of Britain, decides to step down from the throne and divide his kingdom evenly among his three daughters | However, he puts his daughters through a test, asking each daughter to tell him how much they love him. Goneril and Regan, Lear’s older daughters, give their father flattering answers. | But Cordelia, Lear’s youngest and favourite daughter, remains silent, saying that she has no words to describe how much she loves her father.
Ophelia lives in a society ruled by men, faces rejection from the love of her life, and deals with the death of her father. Ophelia's love for Hamlet never dies, but it is limited by the disapproval of her father and her brother. "For Hamlet and the trifling of his favor, Hold it in a fashion and a toy in blood, A violet in the youth of primy nature, Forward, not permanent, sweet, not lasting, The perfume and suppliance of a minute. No more." (Act 1, sc.
When his most loved daughter comments on her sister’s reactions about his wishes, he then begins to go insane after irrationally separating his land between two of his three daughters based on their charm bringing terrible consequences for everyone. I would say that’s Lear’s first mistake; separating power and responsibility. His two eldest daughters are prepared to be in control of their own lives (age wise) but not necessarily mature enough. A reason of immaturity from the daughters that Lear didn’t notice was how fond they were of him when he declared his wanting, therefore, they aren’t ready to rule a kingdom. They allowed their father to act as if he is still in charge.
It gives an insight about her prejudice attitude; for Charles's mother, the idea that her son might enjoy himself with Smudge is intolerable. As a reference through Charles's eyes, readers watch the tops of lampposts, gray clouds and a leafless tree take on the shape of his mother's large chapeau, as her hat-dominated figure casts a shadow over the boy. It clues his perspective towards his mother’s authority. This proposes the tyrannical impact of his mom on his life. He is not a fond of his mother, as she treats him unfairly.
