After the pit stop, teams will depart to their next destination-Male’ Atoll. They will travel 410 miles by air. Male’ Atoll is an island of the Maldives, which is one of the few islands with an airport. This is one of the natural atolls of the Maldives. This atoll contains two separate parts, the North Male Atoll and the South Male Atoll. It is also called Kaafu Atoll, which is its administrative name. People use major currencies such as the Euro, British Pond Sterling, Canadian Dollars, Australian Dollars, yen, Swiss francs but the Maldivian Rufiyaa is not accepted. Players will receive a total of 1,400 Euros, which is about 2,000 USD. Once they arrive at Male’ Atoll players must take a seaplane and go 130 kilometers to the Komandoo island resort. Once there, they will receive their clue, directing them to the detour, a detour is a task that both team members must complete. This detour is called Snorkel. This represents one of the Maldives most common activities- snorkeling. Teams must change in to appropriate attire for snorkeling. Then, teams must search for the treasure chests containing the clues. Once they have received the clue, players must proceed to their next destination. From there, players take the sea plane to Ari Atoll which is about 10 kilometers from Komandoo. They will be a roadblock, a task that only one team member can complete. The clue reads “Who likes fish”. In this task, one team member must catch 5 of each type of fish. The fishes are the barracuda, trevallies and tuna. These three fishes are most commonly used in curry. Once the roadblock is completed teams will proceed to the Pit Stop. For this let of the race, the Pit Stop is in the National Museum located in the Male Atoll. This museum is located in Sultan Park, which was a part of the Sultan’s palace.
