Introduction
In today‚Äôs world there is a constant need for electricity.   Electricity impacts our lives in so many ways that the average person is not be able to function without it.   With this constant demand lies a need to find a way to have a renewable and green energy source. Whenever there is technology, people always want to know the history behind it as well as where it is heading in the future. One of the biggest and most important aspects about renewable energy sources is the development of new sources and how to develop on ones that already exist.

Wind Power
One of the oldest forms of renewable energy being used today is wind power.   Humans have been harnessing the power from a gusty day for thousands of years.   Early examples included ships which used large sails to push their ships.   A more modern practice also included using windmills for such things as to pump wells and to turn gears which could be used for a plethora of things.  
History of Wind Power
The first example of wind power being used to create electricity came in 1887.   A Scottish professor by the name of James Blyth built a cloth wind sail in the garden of an inn he owned.   The sails were set up in a pinwheel type configuration.
