Alice was her name and she taught me everything I know basically. She also showed me things about myself and helped me find myself when I was down and out. She was always there no matter how bad things got with me. She was my role model. I have always said that when I grow up I wanted to be just like her. Never once did she turne her back on me. She stood up for me against my ex-husband that beat me and put me through a lot. Alice Combee was my grandmother and more my mom than my mom ever thought of being. My grandmother was my inspiration in life to be a better person no matter what. She also taught me to respect other’s and to never look down on anyone. “A helping hand goes a lot further in life than a hand that turns another away “quoted from Alice Combee. Now let me continue about another side of her that only few have ever seen. Yes, she got upset at times and she would speak her mind and quick . When she did speak everyone got quite and listened to what she had to say. She never was disrespected for any reason and she never disrespected anyone, she just got to the point. She did not talk much, but when she did she always seemed to put light on whatever she had to say. The life of my grandmother was well lived all the way to the end. She would all ways have the last word no matter what. Towards the end she became less active and she started seeing things that was not there, but she never lost her smile. That smile she had was worth a million to me. She would smile and make everything ok. She always filled me with so much joy, and happiness that I would feel so warm around her and it never failed. In closing Mary Alice Combee, was a great person in many ways as you have read. The life of her is well celebrated and remembered by many. So I would like to finish by saying that she has lived her life to the fullest, and the lives that she has touched along the way have been changed forever. I hope that after you finish reading this you to have been touched in a very wonderful way. Ending with a smile and joy within my heart, and good luck with your journeys in life. Remember smile, she would want us
