But she started yellin an screamin at me and I got scairt George would get mad if she was yellin an screamin like that. I told her to stop but she wuldnt listen. Nope. She jus kept on hollerin. An now i dont get to tend no rabbits.
The governess spastically searched for Flora and repeatedly shouted her name aloud to no one in particular, “Flora! Flora,” she helplessly screamed. Walls 2 I remained in the place I was currently inhabiting. The woman appeared to be turning mad. She violently thrashed about looking for me, and I, innocent and unwilling to cooperate with the governess beckoning me over to her.
An example of Sykes lack of morals is, “If you such a big fool dat you got to have a fit over an earth worm or a string, ah don’t keer how bad ah skeer you” (705). Cleary Sykes does not care if he hurts or scares Delia and continuous to scare Delia with his ruthless actions. Delia also has lack of morals. Delia shows her lack of moral by leaving her husband in the house
She looks up to her parents and tries to hold them, but her mom shuns her away because she is too busy fighting the dad. She tries to hold her brother but he pushes her away in anger as he looks at what happened to his perfect room. Kathleen
The only ones left are Crooks, Candy and Lennie. Curley’s wife comes looking for Curley and they treat her like an idiot ‘[You] think I don’t know where they all went? Even Curley, I know where they all went’ she says. We can see that she knows that they went to the whore house, even her newly married husband. This makes us sorry for her because Steinbeck portrays that Curley doesn’t care for their marriage he just carries on as if it doesn’t exist.
Cheek to Cheek is the chant I repeat. My arms start to move faster, so my brain tells my legs to catch up. I reach my mark and notices Te-Te hand slowly behind her back, so I gladly our good luck charm in her waiting palm and she’s off, taking my place. I feel my body slowing down, but as I stop I feel sharp pains rush through my body, as if I was hit by a semi-truck. My heart continues to beat fast but it won’t stop till the good luck charm crosses the finish line.
He behaves threateningly to Lennie because "he hates big guys. Kind of like he's mad at em' because he ain't a big guy."(29). Shortly after Lennie and George encounter Curley's wife and Lennie can't help but gawk at her; "she's purty. "(35).George sternly tells Lennie "you keep away from herm 'cause she's a rat-trap.."(36). Lennie in his instinctive animalistic way burst out "I don't like the place, George.
Candy carries on calling her a 'tart' even when she is lying on the floor with a broken neck. From the beginning of the story George and Candy describe her as trouble and warn Lennie to keep away. This emphasizes the point that they are way more mature than her and cannot relate to a 'girl'. They are too old to be fooled by her games. Or in other words, George and Candy are seen as the dads in the situation and Curley's wife as the daughter trying to manipulate her fathers to get what she wants.
When Nick and Daisy are alone for the first time she states, “Well, I’ve had a very bad time…and I’m pretty cynical about everything” (21). Daisy speaks as if her life is completely miserable and she also doesn’t seem to believe that any of it is her fault. What a lie. From the very beginning of their [Tom and Daisy] marriage, Daisy knew Tom was unfaithful, “If he left the room for a minute she’d look around uneasily and say ‘Where’s Tom gone?’ and wear the most abstracted expression until she saw him coming in the door” (82). Before this line, Jordan remarks that she’s “never seen a girl so mad about her husband,” it’s more like Daisy was mad with worry that her husband was off with some other woman.
Medea is introduced as a miserable ranting wreck. She so loudly voices her anger over her unfaithful, hero, husband Jason’s new marriage that she is promptly exiled because of it. This imposed exile does not sit well with Medea so before she leaves she wants to
