It was also large, containing representatives from every state and many different interest groups, making it difficult for one group to dominate and suppress the others. Representatives would be elected by a large body of people, helping to ensure that only the most worthy would hold office. Finally, laws were passed by the whole nation, making it difficult for problems in one state to infiltrate and affect others. Under one centralized representative government, a
Both Presidential forms of democracy have their strengths and their weaknesses; after analysing the two the Presidential system of the US seems to be the most effective way to rule because of the high accountability aspect. Things may appear to move slower in that form of democracy, but in times of emergency when things need to be done quickly there are methods to make sure that they are done. Also, the bi-partisan system that is the time consuming aspect of the United States democracy essentially in theory should always produce the best result. This is because all views are expressed and everyone has had a chance to look and see what the best way that they could be accommodated while still trying to come to terms with opposition. Democracy is only one form of government in the world and it may not be right for every government in the civilized world.
His roles were very important and had to be done very well, his roles were Kings Chief Minister and cardinal with a papal legate, making him very controlling but also giving him lots of responsibilities for the administration of places from finance to control of the church and also legal reforms. Wolsey’s success regarding his domestic policies must be thought though wisely because the policies and reforms he was able to do could also relate to Wolsey own personal aims and goals he wanted to achieve in power and also how successful he was in achieving these while maintaining his position as the king’s faithful subject. The number one of Wolsey domestic policies was the king’s finances/the economy because King Henry was a very athletic person and loved going to war and because of this Wolsey had to raise masses amount of money. In this area Wolsey had some successes especially one called the subsidy in reality this was Wolsey's greatest achievement because, he was the royal almoner he planned out and organized king Henry's war in France very well, he raised lots of money for the war by replacing the fixed tax of fifteenths and tenths which required those who earned very very small money to pay like the rich people did, this new tax was more fair for the rich people, by making a more efficient tax system this enabled Wolsey to raise a lot of money for the king, making over
However structuralists have argued that mass political movements in Germany were on the rise and did in fact influence politics. The power the Kaiser has was overwhelming because he didnt have to answer to neither the reichstag or the bundesrat, he ultimately has complete utter control over domestic and foreign policy. This would suggest that Wilhelmine Germany was an authoritarian state under the kaisers rule, but many historians such as Wehler suggested his own version of the argument which states that Wilhelmine Germany was in fact shaped by the elites (junkers) and the army which simply controlled the Kaiser from the shadows. In this essay i will discuss these interpretations offering the view that Wilhelmine Germany was an 'authoritarian' state under the rule of elites and ultimately the kaiser. Kaiser Wilhem II was an unpredictable, intelligent man with a poor judgement, hardly the kind of person you would give almost unchallenged political powers.
If I had to choose a type of government, I would support the Federalists. The Anti-Federalists did not want to ratify the Constitution. Basically, they argue that the constitution gave too much power to the national government at the expense of the state governments, there was no bill of rights, the national government could maintain an army in peacetime, Congress, because of the `necessary and proper clause,' wielded too much power and the executive branch held too much power. The Antifederalists, were generally farmers, debtors, and other lower class people who were loyal to their state governments. Antifederalist leaders, including Samuel Adams and Patrick Henry, typically enjoyed more wealth and power than the people they led.I am sure these seemed like legitimate claims at the time, however, they are really fears unfounded by any proof.
I personally say that strength is not given but earned by what you do to get others to approve your intensions. In other words, strengths and weakness depends on a personal capacity to influence the conduct of those in government. Power seems to be based on how influential or persuasive one can be. However, I also think that no matter how much the President tries to get what he wants during his term, the President will never be the most powerful man in the country. He is always sharing his power due to the checks and balances system.
The first issue was that of what people would be involved in the government. This problem was centered on the idea of different classes of people that were in the nation. By limiting the types of people in the government however, it would limit the types of personalities that would play a role in the government. Some argued that the private men, the working class individuals who represented the majority, had no business being involved in politics and government. Thomas Gordon argued against this because he thought that if anyone would know how the government worked, it would be the private men.
The general liberty of the people must not be in danger especially of the government power. Therefore, the judicial review plays one of the most important roles among the government even though their power might seem weak as Alexander Hamilton says. Judicial review as way of surveillance over legislature and executive branch and as protection of the people from political threats is the main factors for the necessity in the checks and balances system. Moreover, the importance of the judicial review can be proved by the fact that the judicial review establishing the
Name: Khalat Khan Through a thorough investigation of different cultures, political systems, and governments, I have realized that a democracy is the most practical form of governance of a successful society. The fundamental humanitarian and political ideals that are the basis of a democracy allow individuals to reach their fullest individual potential, while maintaining a sense of community and responsibility to the state. I believe that every society needs a stable government to protect the rights and freedom of its citizens. Contracts are inherently the basis of every democratic society. In order for a democracy to function properly, each citizen must forfeit certain individual liberties in exchange for his or her guaranteed protection.
The main functions of the Cabinet are registering and ratifying decisions taken elsewhere in the cabinet system, discussing and deciding on major issues, receiving reports on key developments and determining government business, and settling disputes between government departments. However, even though these are the formal roles of the Cabinet many would argue that the Cabinet is now more of a formality and the power actually lies only with the Prime Minister. Firstly, it can be argued that the Cabinet is no longer an important body
