Adjustment disorders occurs when an individual is unable to adjust to or cope with a particular stressor, such as a major life event. Not to be mistaken as depression, the disorder caused by an outside stressor and generally resolves once the individual is able to adapt to the situation. A large majority of psychological problems involve making choices and dealing with confusion and frustration among other things. Dating back to when the issues had first presented itself everyone offered their opinion about homosexuality and people’s sexual preference. Today judgment is not posted among those who choices to go “ the other way” as much as it were several years ago. It is a considerable debate over the effects of child reaction to homosexuality on social and personal adjustment. The physiological perspective of sexual orientation could make a person perceive him or herself as being brought up in a dysfunctional home or experiencing a traumatic relationship. Wheater it is based on gender, skin color or gender abnormality it is still considered a problem. Gender identity is the extent to which individual’s feels masculine or feminine. These feelings were assumed to be important to individuals and dependent on adherence to cultural standards of masculinity or femini. Although gender may be among the most important soial categories in American society, individuals may differ in the degree to which they consider it an important and positive aspect of persons over all identity. Darnell Moore discovered his sexual preference was different in the 1980’s. This was the time when homosexuality was unaccepted and being ashamed and in the closet so to speak was preferred over being publicly humiliated.
