ANS: a) Defined structure: Acme has a well-defined hierarchy. Each function is clearly defined thus avoiding confusion and improving efficiency. b) Well defined Job Specification: the employees have clear and set goals. Thus there is no place for ambiguity and conflict as everyone is well aware of the task that he is supposed to perform. c) Since the organizational has a well-defined structure, superiors are well aware of what their subordinates are doing. d) Proper work allocation amongst the employee. e) Saves time: this kind of structure also saves time as goals and tasks are lucidly set and communicated. This ensures better utilization of time. f) Feedback: A proper structured hierarchy ensures effective feedback. The superiors can give effective feedback to their subordinates and the subordinates can effectively communicate to the supervisor their grievances. g) The president of Acme, John Tyler, was working with Tech Products. This enables him to better understand the organization and its working as compared to a director of a research lab that Omega’s president was. h) Need to know basis: At Acme employees are given information that is necessary for them to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently. They are not burden by information that they do not require. Thus there is no information overload. i) Quick Decision making: since the important decisions were in hands of the President, this ensured quick and efficient decision making. j) Communication: Acme follows proper communication process.
