There is a considerable body of evidence to suggest that time management skills are necessary skills of university students to increase their academic success. As shown on this case, Margaret does not have a good time management skills in study to ensure her assignment achieved a high mark. Margaret spent too much time to do work and this is the main reason to result in Margaret have to finish her essay in only one day. Because of this, Margaret could not written 1500 words in length and did not find enough sources. Due to Margaret did not complete her assignment with high quality that she got a really low mark, which is 5 out of 20. In this case, Margaret does not have the time management skills necessary to ensure her assignments achieve a high mark. Margaret spent too much time at her place of work and this is the main reason she had to finish her essay in only one day. Because of this, Margaret did not have time to do the necessary research and could not write 1500 words since did not have enough sources. Due to Margaret being unable to complete her assignment to a high standard, she achieved a very low mark, which was 5 out of 20. It appears that this problem is not uncommon to any other students in the university. Byrd and Macdonald (2005) suggested that the important of time management skill is when discussing the time needed after class and manage the requirement of courses between work and leisure time (p.29). Moreover, the lack of time and poor skills to manage time are the biggest obstacles in time management skills (Byrd & Macdonald, 2005, p.29).
