LIFE EXPERIENCES As I have experienced many things in my life, I am now more prepared to go through my degree program because of my personal desire to be successful. I have the full support of my immediate family that matters most to me. Although I am just beginning on my journey to a degree with Ashford University, the staff has been very helpful and supportive in helping find the right program and get started on the right track. My previous school experience in the traditional setting, as well as, online has prepared me to continue my higher learning education

In the novel, they really struggled with many things - the adoption process, Sohrab trusting Amir and most importantly, Sohrab's attempted suicide. These hardships really were important to the overall story and I wish they were included. Not only did they not expand this time period, the discussion between Soraya and Amir about children was never shown. I think this was important because they vetoed adoption in the book, but made an exception in the end. I think that should have
In year one a key task was to develop and approach and ethos, especially as a membership organisation that would inspire this knowledge, hope and belief further. Keeping this in mind helped us to shape our plans and strategic direction for this coming year and beyond. So to John Campbell, John Arthur, Jed, Reg, Keith, Simon Martin and Michael thank you once again for the invaluable contribution in making this happen. I would also like to make special mention and thanks to David Best and Valerie Tallon who were unable to stay on the Board but helped us at the start of this journey. The Board’s vision is only one part that makes an organisation work.
It is important when evaluating career variables because it helps me define my potential and where I want to spend my time working. It brought up a big question of do I want to waste my skills and talent for a job that will last for a few months or do I want settle for a career well I can accomplish all of my goals. "Support groups and self-help groups are structured for the purpose of providing patients with the opportunity to maintain or enhance personal and social functioning through cooperation and shared understanding of life's challenges" (Hayes et al., 2006; Yalom & Leszcz, 2005). The person who was delegating the groups were previous addicts who have been sober for some time. A better relationship begins because they can relate to the other members. In the Alcoholics Anonymous support group, two coins were given to sobriety, a three month and a nine month. These are great personal achievements for the member to accomplish and it takes motivation, determination, and support.
From that point on, I was in wonder of the physical therapy profession and the amazing outcomes that are a direct result of their skills, knowledge, and passion to help people maximize their quality of life. When it came time to attend college I was faced with the decision of choosing a major. For most it can be a difficult one, but for me it was simple. I wanted to become a physical therapy assistant. I wanted to return the blessing that I had once been given and have the honor of bring back someone else's loved one's well being.
Over time I was able to see the positive the effects these sessions had on the children and their families. Conducting these sessions has taught me the importance of incorporating the foster parents. I was able to help the parents implement techniques and strategies that resulted positive behavior changes in the children. I have never been more ready or eager to take the next step in my journey and begin my studies in mental health counseling. I believe this program will lead me to a fulfilling career, which will be rewarding in terms of the help I will provide to others.
I have picked the MHRT/C program as an academic goal because it is what I believe I have been called to do with my life. I always have been a caring person who loves helping others. With this program I feel that by achieving this career goal I will not only be able to help others in the same situation I was in but also I will also be helping myself as well to become a stronger person. Another reason I want to learn more on mental health is I have a 10-year-old son who has been diagnosed with some mental health issues. I feel with my schooling I would be able to understand my sons illness more which would allow me to provide him the help that he needs.
The programs offered at the honors college will allow me to achieve this goal of giving back to the community in a way that generates a long-lasting impact. As a part of the honors college, I would like to get involved in helping on and off campus. By organizing and being a part of service learning events, I will gain leadership and communication skills that will be used forever. The experiences I will gain from being a part of the honors college will impact me for the rest of my life. I plan on using these skills and experiences to impact others in a positive way.
