July 13, 2011 The Worst President Since 1860 First, one must realize every president experiences great victory and defeat. Victory can be measured in many ways: economically, through war (or the lack thereof), foreign affairs, balanced budgets, and a myriad of other measurements. As an example, Abraham Lincoln is credited with keeping the union together and freeing the slaves. However, militarily he would have to be counted a colossal failure. He is, after all, the president who presided over four of the bloodiest years in our nations history.
