About those who always arrive late To be late or to be tardy means to arrive in a place after the hour you have to be there. It seems obvious that you have to be on time, don’t it? But there are those notorious late comers; I suppose you know more than one person being “late as usual”. You may be very late or not, in the first case you are not expected to arrive any more. The best part of the notorious-late-comers are the excuses: there are dead grandmothers, disappeared dogs and mice in the bathroom, cockroaches under the bed, broken busses, car accidents and different natural disasters. Even extra natural phenomena are used as excuse sometimes. Being always late may be a bad habit that makes your partner, your boss and your family crazy. You may be fired if you arrive always late and are unpunctual. You could lose your flight and your train. It creates conflicts on different levels and makes you absolutely unable to do certain jobs like teacher, dispatcher even baker. There are people even coming late to their own wedding which is without doubt a bad start of your family life. In different cultures to be late is handled in different ways. Some Mediterranean countries accept this as an inevitable small problem, in Central and Nord Europe being late is nearly a crime and is often connected to being lazy, disorganized and no motivated. It is punished at school and strongly criticized. In certain countries in Latin America to be late is a must and has an own protocol. This makes tourists and foreigners crazy, but you have to adapt otherwise life is impossible. Being always late is for sure a big problem for you and for your ambience so try to not do it, buy a new watch and an organizer and organize your day in an orderly way.
